Love Your Neighbor - Founders

Beginning with a core of 4 people in April, 2007, and now more than 400 volunteers, Love Your Neighbor is a group of concerned citizens who linked with New Beginnings of Tampa, a 501.c3 compassion outreach to the homeless, the hungry, and the needy. Twenty-five hungry people came to our first dinner on July 15, 2007, at American Legion Post 99 in Brooksville. Since then, more than 5,000 meals and 6 tons of bread, food, and clothing have been distributed.

Local businesses, churches, and concerned individuals have united to provide dinners, clothing, toiletries, haircuts, medical assistance, transportation, jobs, and other services.

What started as a few people with a $40 per month budget has blossomed into a grassroots ministry to the needy that each week provides almost $10,000 worth of goods and services.

The list of needs is long. Many of those who are giving so generously are themselves living at or below poverty level. No one group can meet this need by themselves. It takes each of us finding the niche which we can best fill in order to Love Your Neighbor.
